Another Fix!

With the start up of another school year, came another start up - Stitch Fix! As mentioned in earlier posts, I didn't really have a reason to keep getting Stitch Fix over the summer since I wore basically shorts and t-shirts every day. (Which was so nice, but it sure is exciting waiting for these fix boxes to arrive every month!)
I had some good luck this time, and I ended up wearing the first outfit to my kindergarten meet and greet today. (Don't mind the awkward stances..definitely do not know the best way take pictures! Besides the stance to the side - much more flattering.) Also, hubby was taking these in between coughs, sneezes, and nose blowing AND I had to stand in an area where he didn't have to get out of bed. (He's sick. icky.)
Piece #1: Diamond Wrap Dress - kept! I took it out of the box and I know I said "....ew," but then tried it on and I loved it!
Piece #2: Denim Jacket - kept! When I saw I got a jean jacket, I thought for sure I would send it back because I already have one. But then this style and fit ended up being a little different than my other one so I kept it!

Piece #3: White Blouse - returned. I liked it, but I didn't like it enough. It was a little tight in some areas and it also was wrinkly, a sign that I would probably need to iron it a lot. (...and I don't have an iron...which would have been a problem.)

Piece #4: Straight Leg Pants - returned. They sure were comfortable, but I didn't feel like they fit me the best. They just weren't the right length. They either needed to be a little longer or a little shorter.

Piece #5: Striped Top - kept! It fit nice and I wear black pants and capris a lot so it'll be a great addition to my closet.

2015-2016 Classroom

I came home from school around 3 o'clock today, planning on staying home and not going back in until Monday. The longer I stuck around at home playing the Ruger, though, the more things kept popping into my head about various things that I should and could get done. So, around 5:30 I headed back into school and ended up bringing my camera, which worked out great because you have to wait awhile for the laminater to heat up so I was able to snap some pictures.
I'm about ready for the meet and greet on Wednesday, I think, except for some minor things that I can get done on Monday during our three hour work time after in-service. I already feel much more at ease from last year and it is so nice to know, now, what worked in my classroom and what didn't, what I can change, what I can keep the same, etc.
One big thing I'm excited about this year is the calendar binders I put together for the kids. Last year, by the end of the year, it was so hard to get my kids to stay focused and engaged during calendar time...so by using these binders I'm hoping they will stay a little more engaged and get more out of calendar time! We'll see!
Anyways, here is my classroom for the year of 2015-2016! (And yay for getting tables this year!! I already am loving them much more than my desks last year!)
p.s. - I started up stitch fix again! Next fix is scheduled to arrive next Thursday!

Billings Weekend

Back in June my step sister, Chelsey, mentioned the possibility of a Billings weekend. We talked a bit about it, but then I thought it would be too close to school for me to get away so we thought "Oh, maybe next summer".

As the summer progressed though, and July turned into August, I realized my school doesn't actually start until August 26th! With that realization the thought was resurrected and the plans began.

So last Thursday I bid adieu to my baby Ruger and my hubby and traveled west to spend a few days with Chelsey and her boys. Thursday night found us at the rodeo that was occurring during the Montana State Fair, in which Archer was more interested in the train across from the arena and a plane flying overhead than the rodeo itself! We even got in on some greasy fair food. Haven't had that for long while!

Friday we toured the Moss Mansion, which was very interesting and breathtaking! Archer was a bit less enthused about touring the huge mansion than we were, so my arm muscles got a workout from lifting a three year old boy up and down, up and down, and up again...! After leaving, we got a quick bite to eat and then headed to the water park, which was way more Archer's idea of fun! It was the perfect hot day for it!

Saturday, as we were sitting down eating breakfast, we mentioned how nice it would be to stay another night and do some shopping. We laughed a bit at the idea at first, but then looked at each other and thought, why not?! So, we got the go aheads from our husbands and ended up extending our stay! Saturday we zipped around the Montana Zoo and then shopped until we almost dropped at Hobby Lobby, Target, Scheels, and Ross's Dress for Less. Sunday morning found us traveling back to North Dakota for me, and Wyoming for them with the thoughts that this definitely needs to happen again!

It was another fun weekend in the books!

Ruger - 4 months

Technically our boy turned 4 months on August 3rd, so I guess he is 4 months and 7 days today.
Has he ever changed from when we first brought him home!
What was life like before we got him? I can't even remember! ha!
I love 'im  so much, as documented on instagram (#rugervig).
At four months: He travels in a vehicle like a pro, is still very much distracted on walks and loves to chew on the leash, gets so excited when visitors come that he just has to welcome them by jumping on them! (We're working on not jumping...) He knows not to bite on hands/feet anymore and he loves jumping at (not on!) the cats when in the house. He has outgrown the "large" size crate so we will be purchasing the "extra large" crate, soon. It's sometimes hard to forget he's only four months old!

In three short weeks, though, his life is about to change. He'll go from seeing me every day/almost every hour, to a little bit in the morning and then again in the evening. It makes me a bit sad, but we sure were lucky with the timing when we got him! It couldn't have worked out any better with bringing him home one week after school let out in May.

I'd say the summer of 2015 was the summer of Ruger.

And into August!

...we bought a new vehicle

...I continued to work in my classroom. Lots of work left to do!

...Ruger started to LOVE his pool. He doesn't play in it, but he loves to sit and lay in it when it is super hot out, which, it has been a lot lately.

...Elizabeth came and visited and we went to the musical!

...we finally started building our fence in the back yard. Thanks for the help mom and Will!! We already love it.

...especially this guy!

...and occasionally this has been happening. 4 months old!

Today we leave for my in-laws for the weekend (haven't been there all summer!) and then on Thursday I'm meeting my step sister in Billings for a quick getaway. Finally taking advantage of the fact that we live *kind of* close to each other?!
And that, I think will be a wrap of my summer!
