maplewood state park

I love these mother-daughter horseback trips.
Nothing quite like spending the day outside, with no bugs, and a temperature in the 70's.
Oh, and enjoying a big piece of pie at the Cornfield Cafe after!
By the way, did our trailer shrink?! We were just finishing up our lunch when we heard a loud diesel engine turning into the park. It wasn't long before we saw a big semi truck hauling a huge horse trailer and we thought for sure they would park at a campsite and stay awhile, but, they ended up pulling next to us, in the day parking! I had to snap picture. I find our trailer cute! :)

Stitch Fix #6

I'm just going to jump right into it!
Item #1: Paisley dress shirt - kept. I just really liked it! It's comfortable, not tight, and I don't have anything navy blue in my closet.

Item #2: khaki vest - kept. My stylist suggested pairing it with the dress shirt above, but I didn't really like that. So I pinterested and found that it'll go on top of jean. I also saw it worn a lot with a black/white striped shirt.
Item #3: scarf - kept. So warm and cozy!
Item #4: Skinny Jeans - kept. It seems like in every stitch fix box my stylist has sent skinny jeans...and I keep sending 'em back. But these ones, they are so comfy so I decided to keep them.

Item #5: Suede dress - kept. I wasn't crazy about this dress, but it just made sense to keep it since I kept everything else and if you keep everything, you get 20% off. (So total it was cheaper to keep it.) Still deciding what to put with it so any suggestions are welcome! :) Also, why are unposed pictures sometimes better than posed?!

So yep, I kept everything in this fix!

September Weekend

It was a good, good weekend away from house projects and four wheeler projects. We rode horse, went fishing, enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and bacon wrapped pork chops, and loved spending time with my mom and step-dad. There is just something so relaxing about being at my parents.
Now as I type this, Aaron is already outside working on the garden shed/dog/cat house. Back to being home I guess!
By the way, did you know that live crickets make good fishing bait? And did you know that bees can fly up to 30 mph? Just some little tidbits I learned this weekend from my stepfather!

crock pot potato soup

A few weeks ago my sister-in-law, Heather, had the idea of putting together a few freezer crock pot meals. What an awesome idea! Because #1 coming home to the smell of something cooking in the crock pot is wonderful #2 It's easy and #3 I do not like to cook. We put together 8 meals each on Saturday and I was so excited about them that I tried the first one on Sunday. I couldn't wait!
Score: 5/5

Ingredients:
4-6 small potatoes peeled and diced
2 cans cream of chicken
1 can cream of celery
1 pint half and half
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
6 TB melted butter
1 bunch of green onions thinly sliced
1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:
Combine all the ingredients (except cheese) in a crock pot and stir until combined. Cook on low for 6 hours.

I love that for the directions there is only one step. So easy! And we used the plastic crock pot liners...even easier. No cleaning up the crock pot!

Pebble Beach

This evening we spent some time on the beach of the third largest man made lake in the United States. The temperature has been in the high 90's this week and with no AC in the school, it makes for a pretty toasty day with my 18 kinders! And to come home to a house with, once again, no AC...let's just say the beach and water felt amazing.
We skipped rocks, talked about some land that potentially may come up for sale, watched Ruger chase waves, watched Ruger run up and down the shore, watched Ruger get scared of some birds, swam, walked up and down the beach, and did I mentioned we watched and chuckled at our dog? :)
Not quite sure why this was the first time we've ever been to Pebble Beach, but I know it won't be the last.
