Happy Anniversary, Aaron

Three years already since we said our vows.
Our wedding felt like it took a second, and with a snap of a finger, three years are past.

I don't think I would change a thing about our love life. We started dating our freshman years of college and knew within three months that we would get married. But, with advice from our parents, we waited four years to get married until we were both through with college.

We had lots of time to plan our big day, and there isn't much about our wedding that I would change. I would pick Medora again as the location, and I would pick the same dress, the same cake, the same venue, the same officiant...

...and definitely the same groom. :)

Of course there were behind the scenes things that happened...
...it rained almost all day before our wedding and we had all gotten tickets for the Medora Musical.
We got rained out.

... Aaron's ring was too tight and his finger started turning blue. The ring came off soon after the ceremony!

...the stomach flu raged through my family members the week after our wedding and the day after our reception (we had a large reception a week after our wedding, in Fargo) I got the stomach flu, bad, at my in-laws. It also was the day we were planning on moving to Beulah since Aaron started his job on Monday. So, without AC in Aaron's little pickup, me with the stomach flu, and a 90+ degree day, we set off on our life together.

Aaron, if you're reading this, Happy Anniversary. I love you.
Can't wait to see what the next few years have in store!
(and with that, I think I'm going to go listen to "If I Could Make a Living Out of Loving You" by Clay Walker...just to reminisce walking back down the aisle for the first time as husband and wife!)

throwback saturday

Today I was looking through some picture folders I have on my computer and came across this photo. It cracks me up. Especially the little boy on the left just waitin' in his dads arms. Aside from that, I wonder what us three sisters are telling my then brand-new husband?

a wedding gift

I am terrible {absolutely terrible} at names. I have noticed this about myself when we moved to a new community. Granted, not knowing anyone can be a bit overwhelming. After a year I still find myself describing people when I talk about them so Aaron knows who I'm talking about. {My hubby is excellent at names I might add.}

But it's kinda funny, I can look around our house at all the shower gifts and wedding gifts we received last year and know exactly who gave it to us and what they wrote on their card. It's kind of nice, you know, being able to think about Sharon when I use the ove-gloves or Raelynn when I use the tupperware or Nancy and Jenna when I use the nesting bowls or mom when I use the knives or Annie and Jeremy when we use our glasses, or Don and Eileen when I use a coaster in our living room...I could continue but I won't! But what I will say is I honestly appreciated every gift we received.

This post is about a drawing we got from my sisters and it left me drooling over all of this artists' drawings. Karmel Timmons draws horses and the way she gets every detail is amazing. The drawing started off in our living room, but then I decided to move it into our bedroom above our bed. It just seemed more intimate there. {p.s. the rustic frame was built by my brother-in-law, Blair.}

This drawing is called True Romance.

I am excited to announce that as of today I now own two of her drawings. The wedding gift from Elizabeth and Kristin sparked a love so deep for these drawings that I decided to start collecting them. They are beautiful, much like horses are. So folks, here is the newest Karmel Timmons drawing to take up residence in our home. {I decided to splurge a little bit from my summer school earnings!}

This is a lithograph print and it's called Sisters.

Here are some shots from our engagement pictures that you didn't get to see!

Such precious brown eyes!
What a cutie I'm marrying. :)

The dip that didn't quite go according to plan...
(Looks rather awkward, I know haha)
Under the umbrella...

I'm not quite sure...but, it makes me laugh.
One of my favorites.
And lastly, another one of my favorites.
Aaron and I were so happy with how our pictures turned out. The whole experience was wonderful! Thanks, Annie, a bunch!
Next step on the path to marriage: dress shopping!

1st picture preview!

This weekend Aaron and I traveled back to our college town for some engagement pictures! They were super fun...especially with Annie as our photographer! She's not quite done editing them...but this is a preview she sent.
