Another June Sunset

We had lots of rain yesterday and a few thunderstorms. When the storms passed there was a yellow glow of a sunset coming in our windows. It was another beautiful night. So I jumped in the car and drove a few blocks out to the country and took in the beauty. I can't wait until the day/night I can just step out our farm door and take in the scenery.
What I love most about this picture is how it contrasts the blue of the storm on the right to the clearing of the storm on the left. I just wish the the ground wouldn't have gotten so dark. Something to work on with my photography, I guess!

Evening Drive

Every so often Aaron and I will go on a drive.
To look at the scenery, to dream about our future farm, and to get out of the city for awhile.
Here are a couple photos I snapped with my phone along the way.

Ford Pickup

A hobby of my husbands is buying and selling pickups, fourwheelers, dirtbikes, or any other wheeled thing that runs (or doesn't run). I don't really understand it, but I don't need to! He enjoys it and makes him happy, so it makes me happy.
His most recent purchase - a 1984 Ford pickup. It reminds me so much of my grandpa's old pickup. The pickup that he and grandma would go on evening drives with, the pickup he would nap in on summer afternoons, the pickup that drove through the drifts of the storm of '97 to bring Elizabeth and I to their house...
Here is a picture I snapped on our way home from picking up the pickup. The sunset was beautiful.

Another gorgeous sunset

I think sunsets are my most favorite thing to take a picture of. Here are three different shots I took from this evening.

I wonder if sunrises are just as beautiful? Maybe one morning I'll have the motivation to get up early enough...

The perfect evening

This morning/afternoon = drizzly, cloudy, and very windy
This evening = clear, peaceful, and simply beautiful

Now, while looking at the picture above, imagine the sound of loons.
I'd say it was pretty close to the perfect evening!
